We're now at the final stretch of the epic 2024 USA election marathon, and surprises have been endless! From sudden withdrawals and bizarre statements to deepfakes and cat memes, this election cycle has completely redefined what “political drama” means. It’s as if Hollywood itself is gearing up to turn it into a blockbuster.
Summing it all up? Impossible. But here are some of the most memorable moments – the ones that will be talked about for years.
Joe Biden’s Gaffes: A Classic That Never Disappoints
Before he withdrew, President Biden was behind some of the most viral moments online. One of the most famous? At the G7 in Italy, Giorgia Meloni had to “reel him back in” for a group photo when he wandered off, looking lost. But the ultimate was Biden calling Zelensky “President Putin” during a NATO meeting. Biden’s 2024 gaffes will certainly go down in history, for better or worse.
Biden’s Surprise Withdrawal
Biden’s withdrawal announcement shocked the entire election. After another weak performance, he passed the baton to Kamala Harris, leaving Trump’s team scrambling to revamp its strategy. The media frenzy that followed was unmatched. Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 USA election became a key turning point in this presidential race.
Trump’s Assassination Attempt – A Drama-Turned-Trend
On July 13, during a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt, sustaining a minor injury to his ear. The day after, he appeared at the party convention sporting a large bandage on his ear – which instantly became the latest trend for MAGA supporters. Social media didn’t miss a beat: Trump assassination attempt July 2024 quickly turned into a trending hashtag and a flood of “heroic bandage” memes.
Trump’s Odd Admiration for Hannibal Lecter
Think you’ve seen it all? Think again. Trump’s bizarre 2024 quotes included multiple references to Hannibal Lecter, the villain from “Silence of the Lambs,” as if he were real. Naturally, the internet exploded in response.
JD Vance and the “Couch Controversy”
Choosing JD Vance as Trump’s running mate raised some eyebrows. But when a viral joke suggested he’d had “relations” with a couch – a claim not actually in his book – the memes multiplied. The chaos got so intense that even rival Tim Walz mentioned it in a speech, jokingly advising Vance to “leave the couch alone.” JD Vance and the couch scandal became a viral sensation.
Taylor Swift, the “Cat Lady,” and the Deepfake Saga
In a surreal moment, JD Vance sparked outrage by calling Democratic Party members “childless cat ladies” with sad lives. Taylor Swift was among the first to respond, proudly dubbing herself a “childless cat lady” and declaring her support for Kamala Harris. Then, to make things stranger, Trump shared AI-generated images in August suggesting Swift was endorsing him. The pop star didn’t stay quiet, saying, “I’m concerned about artificial intelligence and the dangers of misinformation. Taylor Swift and Trump’s deepfake scandal was one of the most bizarre moments of the election.”
Merch Frenzy – The MAGA Universe Expands
Trump seized every opportunity to sell anything, from Bibles to “Never Surrender” sneakers. This merchandising spree has caused some backlash, especially as Trump blurs the lines between business and politics in unprecedented ways.
Pro-Harris AI Incident
In a strange moment, Alexa called Harris the better candidate compared to Trump. Amazon quickly clarified that it wasn’t intentional, but the incident unleashed a torrent of conspiracy theories and memes.
“Eating Dogs and Cats”? Trump’s Migrant Claims
During a debate, Trump said migrants were “eating dogs and cats” in Springfield. The claim was debunked, but it spurred a wave of pet-protection memes, with fans sharing images of animals in a spoof “animal protection” campaign.
Elon Musk, Trump, and the “Swing State” Dance
And finally, Elon Musk accompanied Trump to a bizarre music party where he played his playlist for 40 minutes. Some online speculated that Trump had mixed up “swing state” with “swing jazz.” It was certainly a memorable moment.
And to Wrap Up – Fascism Accusations
Former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly stated in an interview that Trump fits the “general definition of a fascist” and even mentioned how Trump had a fascination with Hitler. Trump quickly fired back, accusing Harris of calling him a “fascist” – even though it was Kelly who said it. Fascism accusations against Trump in 2024 only deepened the divide among voters.
We’re in for a long wait until November 5. But one thing’s certain: the 2024 USA election will be remembered as an instant classic – with memes, viral videos, and endless plot twists.
